“Eric Clapton puts entire music industry’s profits at risk with plan to show audiences that some musicians play actual instruments on their records (and even on stage in front of people).”
Will eric clapton’s 2023 Los Angeles Crossroads Benefit the Pop Stars Too?
A group of Los Angeles area pop stars have come together to sound the alarm over an upcoming benefit concert in September hosted by Eric Clapton. The issue seems to be related to Eric’s decision to invite multiple individuals to town who like to use real instruments on stage. While slow hand has indicated that the two night show is being put on to raise funds for an addiction rehabilitation center, many of the music industry’s most profitable stars are concerned that the show might inadvertently cause irreparable damage to their image…
(Auto-tuned Voice) In this golden age of additional fees and bot ticket scalping… like really? This asshole wants to put our entire cash machine in jeopardy just so his buddies can play guitars? It’s just so irresponsible… what happens when the public starts expecting us to use real instruments on stage too?

The Crossroads Benefits are few and the Crossroads Drawbacks are Many
The pop stars in opposition to the Crossroads Benefit 2023 have asked their assistants to ask their managers to sign an open letter (published on tiktok) outlining the reasons they believe the two night concert series (taking place Sept. 23-24 at the Staples Center that isn’t called that anymore) should be canceled. The letter lists the musicians who have been invited… a who’s who of musical acts with history’s of unapologetically using actual instruments on stage:

Music INdustry Collateral Damage
The pop star letter, written and produced by over 30 different people, goes on to cite further concerns of potential collateral damage which may be caused by the planned public display of actual musical ability.
We know that the audience in attendance at the questionably renamed Staples Center are going to be exposed to dangerous levels of talent… but that is just the beginning. If vertical phone footage of the show (disinformation) was to find it’s way on to social media, the entire Billboard Top 40 could potentially loose their jobs overnight… and these luxury perfume lines aren’t going to sell themselves.

But some music industry analysts are calling the letter’s claims an over reaction. One expert has stated that in order for the social media repercussions to occur, boomers would need to learn to use cellphone cameras between now and September (an unlikely scenario).

The Benefits of Additional Information
The 2 day festival is slated to take place on September 23 and 24.
The Staples Center is now apparently called TheCrypto.Com Arena.
The benefit is sponsored by The Guitar Center… because of course it is.
It will be the 7th installment of the Crossroads Guitar Nerd Convention.
Tickets to the Festival will go on sale this Friday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. local via Ticketmaster.
Each day will be sold as its own ticket and there will not be 2-day passes.
